When multiple courts have concurrent jurisdiction over a plaintiff’s claims, the plaintiff exercises the option to choose the court that will treat his or her claims most favorably. This process is called forum shopping. Generally the plaintiff exercises this facility and files a suit in the most favorable forum. The defendant may file a forum non convenience motion showing that the forum where the plaintiff have filed the suit is inconvenient to him for sufficient reasons explained in the motion. Forum non convenience is Latin, for an inconvenient forum.
